Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa, was established in November 2002. The University has 110 colleges, both constituent and affiliated, with around 58,000 students.
BPUT is a state technical university which offers various undergraduate, post-graduate and research programs in different streams including engineering, pharmacy, architecture, business management, computer studies and hotel management.
The University is approved by UGC (University Grant Commission), AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) & AOA.
Basic eligibility criteria are that a candidate must have passed +2 Science with at least 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. If Fourth optional subject i.e. IT OR Biology marks is more than chemistry then it can be calculated with Physics and Math. That means, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
Selection of candidates will be based on merit list which will be prepared on their performance in the exams.
Students need to appear for the JEE Main or OJEE Exam for the current year.

Application fee can be submitted online or offline
Candidates need to upload the scanned copies of recent passport sized photograph, signature and thumb impression. The scanned copies must be in JPEG, JPG or PNG format.
The counselling process undertaken for admission to various courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch and B.Planning are as follows:
Step 1: Registration-Registration Fee of INR 450 through online mode
Step 2: Choice Filling-After Choice Filling, Mock result will be given then choice locking facility will be activated. No alteration will be made after locking the choice.
Step 3:Temporary allotment 1-Allotted Students Have to Deposit Admission Fees. Deposit Can Only Be Done on any Branch of State Bank of India Or Axis Bank by Challan.
Step 4: Report at Nodal Center for Document Verification and Withdrawal by Candidates Not Willing to Continue in the Counselling Process
Step 5:Students to Download Final Allotment Letter and Report to the Allotted Institutes/Colleges
