The Research and Development activities of the Institute encompass a wide array of modern topics of research interest. All the departments are actively involved in research work. GITAM has a healthy mix of very experienced as well as enthusiastic young researchers, who are dedicated to making significant contributions to the existing literature in their respective fields.

Some of the areas of active research work being pursued by our faculty members include internet and web technology, networking, data science, VLSI, optimization, signal processing, environmental engineering, electromagnetic studies of conducting oxides, computational fluid dynamics, biomedical systems, power systems, power electronic devices, differential equations and projective geometry.

There is an in-house research proposal scheme to promote scientific investigations in any area of science or engineering; funding as seed money is given to faculty members to start projects in and to promote industry-academia collaboration.

GITAM also has its own education and health-care sectors, using data analytics and cloud computing platforms. The team includes experts from academia and industry. The in-house ERP which manages various aspects of academics and administration of the Institute was developed by the incubation center.
